The first step in creating an image is the deliberating over colours, I often work within tight colour palettes and the process of deliberating the perfect colour combination is a long one, taking days sometimes. Then there is the selection of the perfect container or vessel, to ensure I convey the mood and intention of the design. Once the arrangement begins to form in my mind, I can start selecting and conditioning the flowers - an art in itself. Then comes the designing - arranging, rearranging, tweaking, primping and styling until everything feels right.

Only then does the camera come out, even the photography itself can take several hours as I work to capture the precise atmosphere, details and nuances of the original design,

The finished image is therefore the culmination of a much longer process - one that begins in the soil, evolves through growing and designing, finally finding its form through photography.
